As neighboring communities such as Victorian Village and the Brewery District took off a decade or two ago, Italian Village awaited its moment. Dotted with vacant lots, warehouses and dormant factories, the area's real-estate values remained earthbound. Finding parking spots wasn't the challenge it was just a few blocks away in the Short North.
Take a look now and you'll find apartment and condo projects springing up, along with restaurants and storefronts, reclaiming sites where abandoned industrial buildings once stood. Parking now has become an issue, illustrating how far the neighborhood has come.
