What does legendary rock star Paul McCartney have in common with outgoing state Rep. Anthony Forlini? They both have been named as honorary knights and have the prefix of "sir" in front of their names. Sir Anthony Forlini was conferred as a knight in the Order of the Star of Italy by Maria Luisa Lapresa, the Consul of Italy in Detroit, over the weekend during a ceremony held at the Italian American Cultural Society in Clinton Township.
"It's an outstanding honor," the Harrison Township Republican said Monday. Forlini's name was entered with the Italian government by Lapresa for recognition as being a strong advocate for the Italian community, including a trip to Torino in 2013 to speak to more than 70 business owners to promote partnerships with Michigan.
