Own Al Capone's First Chicago House For Less Than $200K

The former home of Chicago's most notorious mobster is back on the market, with an asking price of less than $200,000. The unassuming, century-old structure at 7244 Prairie Ave. in the city's Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood is listed by Redfin at $179,000 - a significant dropoff from October 2014 when it was listed for sale for $225,000.

Al Capone's family moved into the home in 1923 when Al was 24. Three years later, he became boss of The Chicago Outfit, a reign he held for seven years. The brick two-flat includes a pair of apartment units, both with three bedrooms and a single bathroom.
