A top Italian chef, Giuseppe Migliaccio, who has cooked all over Europe, is coming to the United States, including to the Kansas City area in early August and will be presenting a seminar at K-State Research and Extension, Miami County office, 104 S. Brayman St. in Paola at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 7. He will speak on the importance of eating locally produced foods and talk about tomatoes, including heirloom tomatoes, olive oil and eating in season.
Migliaccio is a highly experienced chef who has worked in Michelin-star restaurants and five-star hotels in Europe. His family ran the Osteria Antica for 120 years in Italy. His colorful and fine Italian dishes are made with the best quality seasonal products, preferably organically grown. Traditional Italian dishes are his specialty. He owns the company Happy Cooking, which was inspired by his family and love of the two most important ingredients of his country, tomatoes and olive oil.
