A large group of men with a deep devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary will be honored next month at the Dante Society of Westerly's annual "Person of the Year" banquet. The 36-member Our Lady of Mount Carmel Feast Committee was chosen to receive the award, the first time in its history that the Dante Society will present an entire committee with its annual commendation.
"It's a high honor," said Jay Trebisacci, the current president of the committee, whose members are committed to keeping a beloved Westerly tradition alive. "It's an honor to be recognized for all the hard work the committee does." "Honored and overwhelmed," added Mike Breslin, the committee's incoming president. "We try to do our best."
