A traditional homemade Italian dinner will help locals celebrate National Italian Heritage Month this weekend.

The Italian-American Heritage Association, a greater Seacoast group founded earlier this year, is hosting the dinner, which will feature baked ziti, meatballs, salad, garlic bread, a variety of desserts and a beverage for $12. Children under 12 years old eat for $8.

"It's just to have some fun (and) get to know the community and get the community to know each other," said Delmira Pirini Morse, one of the founders and the vice president of the association. "If you can come, bring your family."

The Italian-American Heritage Association was formed by five founding members who have an interest in preserving, sharing and celebrating their heritage. Members of the group include people of Italian descent and associate members who are not Italian, but want to enjoy the culture and heritage.
