On Thursday March 2, the Neighborhood Club will celebrate an evening of Italian food, culture, and heritage with historian and author Stephen Puleo speaking about his best-selling book, "The Boston Italians." The Neighborhood Club at 27 Glendale Road is opening its doors to everyone to celebrate, beginning at 6 p.m. with a cash bar cocktail hour and "munchies." At 7 p.m. there will be an Italian buffet with salad, two types of pasta, a roast beef carving station, scrod, vegetables, and a special dessert.
Puleo, a Weymouth resident and prolific author, historian and public speaker, will discuss his best seller that describes the Italian immigration experience in Boston's North End, life during the Depression and WWII, and finally, Boston Italians' history up to the present day. Copes of the book will be available for sale.
