NOIAW mourns the passing of Lois Scialo Ellis, who along with her sister Carol, was honored as a NOIAW Wise Woman at the very first Epiphany celebration in NOIAW's Rhode Island Region, in 2012. Lois was a beloved educator who touched the lives of thousands of students over her 34-year career teaching History and American Government at Rhode Island's East Greenwich High School.
In addition to her teaching career, Lois became an award-winning entrepreneur when she entered into partnership with her sister Carol Scialo Gaeta, as co-owners of the Scialo Bros Bakery to succeed their father in continuing the family legacy established in 1916. The Scialo family bakery has been recognized numerous times on the Food Network and featured in Travel + Leisure.
NOIAW extends our deepest condolences to Lois's family and friends at this time. Read more about Lois's life by following this link.
