The Forum of Italian Educators toasted several distinguished leaders at its 33rd annual dinner dance and awards gala on Friday, March 31 at Villa Barone Manor.
This year’s honorees included Thomas G. Giordano Leadership in Education Award recipients Michael Coppotelli, Archdiocese of New York associate superintendent of Student Government Affairs and Benjamin Basile, Mott Hall Community School principal; Michael Tomasetti Administrator’s Award recipients Jane Stefanini, St. Lucy School principal and Georgette Valente, P.S. 108 assistant principal; Excellence in Teaching Award recipients Victoria Galasso, St. Frances de Chantal School teacher and Chrissy Loretta, P.S. 83 teacher; Andy Galdi Special Education Award recipients Christine Capalbo, St. Raymond Elementary School Special Education Teacher Support Services teacher and Joanne Calabrese, P.S. 41 English Language Learners teacher; Dominic Capone FIAME Service Award recipient Geri Sciortino, Bronx Design Group president; Philip J. Abinanti Community Service Award recipient Dr. Angelo Michilli, Primacare Medical Associates doctor of Osteopathic Medicine; and Donation Award recipients Franciscan Sisters of the Renewal.
