On Saturday, October 7th at 9:30AM the John Michael Marino Lodge #1389 and the Loggia Glen Cove Lodge #1016 will conduct the Fifty-ninth Annual Christopher Columbus Wreath Laying Ceremony. The event takes place at the Columbus statue located at the northeast side of the Mineola Court House in Mineola (nearest cross street is Washington Avenue). A light breakfast will be served to all in attendance.
This annual event began in 1964 as a result of four members of our Lodge (only one remains with us today) who had the idea of raising the funds for creating and erecting a Christopher Columbus statue in Nassau County. They obtained the parcel of land and put their hearts and souls into raising the funds for the creation and placement of the statue.
