When former Dante Society President Lou Toscano was recovering from knee replacement surgery he had more than some time on his hands. He had a good idea. Why not a society-sponsored trip to New York? "The Dante Society used to regularly run bus trips to museums and events and we hadn't done it in quite a while," said Toscano, who is on the email list for New York's Italian American Museum.
When he received an update from the museum, located on the corner of Mulberry and Grand streets in Little Italy, he got in touch with society president Joe Pizza and vice president Pam Salimeno and pitched the idea. Salimeno, who also works for Trek Tours, took charge, Toscano said.
