One of the original statues of St. Gennaro will lead the opening ceremonial procession for the Yorktown Feast of San Gennaro on Thursday. "It's a privilege to participate in the first San Gennaro Feast in Yorktown," said the Rev. Tom Kreiser of St. Patrick's Church in Yorktown Heights. "What a joy to celebrate the Italian culture in our great community."

St. Gennaro is the patron saint of Naples, and the statue was carried through the streets of Little Italy for the Feasts of the early 20th century. The statue is on loan from the Most Precious Blood Church in Manhattan. It will be on view in Railroad Park during the feast and at St. Patrick's Church for a 9 a.m. Mass on Saturday.
