A new social club, the Fogolâr Furlan – Friuli Big Apple, held its inaugural dinner in early May at Terra Restaurant owned by Friulan Restauranteur, Roberto Passon. The Fogolâr is dedicated to developing professional relationships and ties with Friulans living in the Tri-State Area and in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, the north-eastern most region of Italy bordering Austria and Slovenia.
Members of the Fogolâr will also be meeting with the President of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region, Debora Serracchiani, during her visit to New York to celebrate Friuli Month at the famous Italian specialty store, Eataly and during a tour of Ellis Island.
