The baton of leadership has been handed over at La Voce di New York, the first Italian-English digital newspaper in the U.S. Stefano Vaccara, founder and editor of the newspaper since 2013, will be replaced by Giampaolo Pioli, a longtime New York correspondent for newspapers of the Quotidiano Nazionale group (Resto del Carlino, La Nazione and Il Giorno) and a respected figure for many Italian journalists in the United States.
Mr. Vaccara, who will be continuing to cover news from the United Nations and write as a columnist, recalled how “the idea for this newspaper was born from the great opportunity offered by the Internet: to be able to create a publication capable of being simultaneously local and global, readable both in New York and in Italy.”
