Giovanni Guidi in a rare piano solo performance. Born in Foligno 1985, Guidi meets Enrico Rava during a Workshop in Siena. Rava notices his talent and decides to include him in “Rava Under 21” project, that would become “Rava New Generation” after a little time. With this group Guidi will record three CDs in 2006, 2010, and in 2016, for “L'Espresso” magazine.
At the moment - beside his partnership with the wizard of electronica Matthew Herbert ed Enrico Rava, his own personal trio with Thomas Morgan and Joao Lobo, his new quintet ” Avec Le Temps” (with Francesco Bearzatti on tenor sax, Roberto Cecchetto on guitar plus Thomas Morgan and Joao Lobo), the electric trio ” Drive!” with Joe Rehmer on bass and Federico Scettri on drums, and the duo ” Closer” with bandoneon player Daniele Di Bonaventura, - Guidi is co- leading a new projects with Fabrizio Bosso on trumpet: ” Not A What” and Aaron Burnett on tenor sax, Dezron Douglas on bass and Joe Dyson on drums.
