As part of the Italian American Speaker Series at Italian Charities of America we welcome our guest speaker Anne T. Romano, Ph.D., author of Italian Americans in Law Enforcement. Giuseppe Petrosino was born in Italy and immigrated to the United States in 1883. At the age of eighteen he began his career in public service becoming the NYPD's first Italian American Detective.
