Stephen Lash, Fondatore e Chairman Emeritus di Christie’s USA è un distinto signore dall’aria patrizia. A suo agio in italiano, francese ed ovviamente in inglese ci riceve al 20 Rockefeller Plaza, quartier generale di Christie’s USA. L’incontro avviene a pranzo. Servito da una catena alimentare fast and casual, acqua minerale e caffè per bevande.
“Sono un grande ammiratore dell’arte Italiana”, esordisce Mr. Lash, “ed anche collezionista. Colleziono modelli e cimeli di navi italiane, piroscafi, transatlantici: il Conte di Savoia, il Rex. Sono capolavori di architettura e design. L’anno prossimo la mia collezione sarà esposta a Londra al Victoria ed Albert Museum”.
