The Italian-American Club of Mahopac held its annual competition for Miss Columbus and Little Miss Columbus titles on June 3 and an array of lovely young ladies came out to show off their talents. The compeititon was open to girls throughout Putnam County and the surrounding communities.
Little Miss Columbus was for girls ages 5-9; Miss Columbus was for girls ages 10-15. The girls were required to enter three categories: talent competition; evening gown/party dress; and a question and answer session. Amanda Eppolito of Mahopac was named Little Miss Columbus and received a $100 prize; Giulianna Currim, also of Mahopac, took the Miss Columbus honors and a $200 prize. Both girls were also given tiaras and sashes.
