The 50th Annual Conference of Italian American State Legislators, a bipartisan event produced by Italian Americans in the New York State Assembly and State Senate, took place on June 4th, 2018 in the Legislative Office Building in Albany.
NOIAW Board Member, Prof. Donna Chirico (CUNY/York College) and NOIAW Board Chair Maria Tamburri represented NOIAW at this conference, meeting with Italian American women legislators during the course of the day and at the “Festa Italiana” celebration in the evening. Assemblymembers Jo Anne Simon, Catherine Nolan, Christine Pellegrino, Monica P. Wallace, Stacey Pheffer Amato, and Donna Lupardo, as well as State Senator Diane Savino received information about NOIAW’s history, mission, and programs.
