Maria Giura will read an excerpt from her memoir-in-progress which explores the tension between accepting her personal calling and the ambivalence she felt towards God and her immigrant Italian father. She'll discuss the rewards and challenges of writing memoir and offer inspiration to those who want to understand the genre more and perhaps write their own stories.
