Lectures:
Professor Giovanni Padroni (University of Pisa) speaks about the materials and overall work that has being done on the Leaning Tower of Pisa to restore it to its original splendor and the principal technologies used in the restoration. He will also discuss the frescoes of the Camposanto Monumentale and exceptional examples of underpaintings (or sinopie) hosted in the Museum of Sinopie. Peculiarities as well as organizational and administrative innovations of the "Opera Primaziale" in Pisa, which, from the Middle Ages, has managed all aspects of the "Piazza dei Miracoli" will be analyzed.
Paul Marshall Bray, Associate Counsel, Commissioner's Policy Office at the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation.
Bray will talk about the "parks twinnings" (gemellaggio) and conservation exchanges between Unesco regional Park San Rossore Migliarino Massaciuccoli ( close to the Leaning Tower) and the Central Pine Barren Park, in Long Island Peninsula.
