The Little Italy Association of Rochester says it's temporarily suspending activities as its founder fights what it calls "a serious health condition." The association said in a statement Monday morning that Silvano Orsi, also the association's president, "is battling the end stages" of a health condition.
"I remain positive and upbeat and I will beat this illness, and will continue, as best I can, to promote and defend the Italian and Italian American cultures in this community," Orsi said in a statement. "Unfortunately, after my bout with COVID last May, a more serious health condition has developed, and now it's time for me to focus on me and improving my health."
