Sons of Italy in Endicott celebrates 100 years

A place to smoke a cigar, relax by playing cards with the guys and drink a glass of wine. In the early years of the 20th century, local Italian American immigrants who were among the throngs who came to this country needed to look no further for a place to unwind than at the Sons of Italy lodge.

This was among a handful of ethnic fraternities that sprang up during the immigrant boom. One of those organizations can be found in the Village of Endicott's North Side, where the Sons of Italy on Odell Avenue commemorates its 100th anniversary this year.
