From Christopher Columbus to the Smith Opera House to a wine and cheese tasting. What do they all have in common?They are part October's celebration of Italian Heritage Month by the Geneva Sons of Italy lodge.
Here's a look at the four Saturday events:
• Columbus Day Dinner Dance, Oct. 10 — The lodge's annual dinner in honor of the Italian-born explorer will double as a tribute to the late Richard "Dick" Goldstone, a charter member who recently passed away. Cocktails are at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m. at the lodge home, 31 Prospect Ave. Live music will be provided by the guitar duo of Sauer and Coffey. Tickets may be sold out.
