Mayor Bill de Blasio was unable to keep a meeting with the mayor of a small Italian city Wednesday -- so City Council Minority Leader Vincent Ignizio, perhaps the city's second-highest ranking Italian-American, welcomed the visitor to his office. "I couldn't give up on the opportunity when I saw the mayor," Ignizio said. "I invited him, as a proud Italian-American, into the office to spend some time talking about our Italian culture."
Mayor Michele Napoletano was visiting City Hall Wednesday from Airola, Italy -- a town in the same province as the city de Blasio's mother's family hails from. But de Blasio had to cancel the meeting -- as well as others -- due to a deadly residential building explosion in Harlem.
