Maria Terrone’s collection of essays At Home in the World (2018) uses attentive observation and humor to explore her many intellectual and writerly concerns, among them the passage of time and her Sicilian roots. Rita Esposito Watson in Italian Kisses: Rose-Colored Words and Love from the Old Country (2019) focuses on a grandmother’s life story and weaves in memories and traditions that resonate across cultures.
