The Triangle Fire and Its Immigrants - Italian American Lecture

Thursday October 18 2018, from 19:00 to 21:00 EDT. Italian Charities of America - 83-20 Queens Blvd, Elmhurst, New York 11373. As part of our Italian American Month Lecture Series we welcome our guest speaker Vincent C. Maltese. Vincent C. Maltese is the current Chairman of the Triangle Fire Memorial Association. Vincent will be speaking about the history and tragedy of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire that took place in New York City on March 25, 1911.

He will be talking about his family connection to this tragedy as well as the many other Italian immigrants affected. Vincent will also explain all the dramatic changes that resulted from this tragedy such as factory safety standards and unions which fought for better working conditions. Refreshments will be served. Donation $5.00
