A historical replica has made its way to Chattanooga. La Pinta will be docked at Ross’s Landing until November 19. It was the first ship to discover land during Christopher Columbus’ famous voyage on October 12, 1492. The ship stopped in Chattanooga overnight a couple of weeks ago on her journey to Knoxville. Folks are invited to view the replica ship from November 3-19.
The floating museum is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. “We travel all around the country about ten months out of the year to about 25 different cities around the country. This year we chose the Ohio and Tennessee River to do our tour,” Captain aboard La Pinta Stephen Sanger said. Some of the featured stops include Knoxville and Huntsville.
