Medicine: From Salerno to Philadelphia, first John Price lecture by Dr. Joseph Gonnella. This is a RSVP only event. Please RSVP to [email protected] by October 19th and put "DR. GONNELLA LECTURE" in the title of the email.
The event is the first of a series of tribute lectures to John Price, former President of the America Italy Society of Philadelphia and long-time friend of the Italian culture. It consists of a lecture given by Dr. Joseph Gonnella, Distinguished Professor, Dean Emeritus and Director of the Department of Medicine at Jefferson University, focused on the Italian contribution to research and science in the United States through the professional experience of a great Italian-American scientist.
It is not a coincidence that the first schools of medicine in Europe and the United States were founded in Salerno and Philadelphia respectively.
