Santa Fe is jam-packed with entertaining activities all summer long. This year, a touch of Italy is being added to the menu, with this week's CineFesta Italia, a celebration of the film (and food) of Italy, as well as a monthlong cultural celebration.
Santa Fean Lisa Contarino, executive director of the festival, explains that there's a connection between Santa Fe and Italy — with Italians feeling at home in a city with colonial roots in Spain. We are connected by the love of culture, food and the land, and the fledgling film festival will celebrate another mutual love — excellent cinema. She traces her roots to Sicily and like so many in our global world, travels back and forth between cultures, languages and places.
