by COMITES - Houston
We have all been very moved by the images we have seen of the overwhelming destruction resulting from the massive earthquake that struck central Italy in the pre-dawn hours on August 24. If you would like to make a donation toward relief efforts, COMITES - Houston (representing the Consular District which includes Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas) is collecting funds that will be forwarded to a specific reconstruction project. Funds collected will go directly to the selected project and will NOT be routed through any government agency.
Please make your check out to "COMITES - Houston" and specify "Earthquake Relief Donation" in the memo line. Donations should be mailed to COMITES - Houston at 608 Harold Street, Houston, TX 77006. Please be sure to include your mailing address or email -- COMITES is a 501(c) organization, and all donations are tax deductible. A tax receipt for your donation will be forwarded to you. We will also publish an accounting of total funds raised as well as their disbursement.
