The Italian American Marching Club will hold a free festival Sunday at the Piazza d'Italia, kicking off a week of celebration that culminates in its annual parade. The club will crown Kaylie Badalamenti Catoire Hyde, daughter of Emmett and Cherie Hyde, its queen at 11:45 a.m. at the piazza, 300 Poydras St.
She will be joined by her court of 80 in dancing the tarantella, a lively Italian folk dance. The festivities also will include Italian food and drink and music by singer Lena Prima. Sunday's events are a celebration for the Italian community.
