Inauguration of Seattle’s new Casa Italiana in Burien (WA) with representatives of Governor Inslee, of the Mayor of Seattle Durkan and with the Mayor of Burien Matta. Casa Italiana was a dream of the Italian American community of Washington State for many years and it has now become a reality. It will host as well the Office of the Italian Honorary Consulate in Seattle.
On the occasion Mr Franco Tesorieri, Honorary Consul of Italy in Washington State between 1998 and 2018 was honored with the rank of "Cavaliere" of the Order of the Star of Italy for his hard work and committment to the Italian community. A huge thanks to all who contributed to make "Casa Italiana" happen and in particular to Ms Elisabetta Valentini, Honorary Consul of Italy in WA.
The ribbon cutting by Consul General Ortona and President Nigrelle brought great joy and excitement after such a difficult year - we cannot wait to see activities and dinners come to life in the new Italian casa of Seattle!
