On the evening of February 20, the Deputy Consul General of Italy in San Francisco, Davide Corriero, together with the Director of the Italian Cultural Institute of San Francisco, Alberta Lai, proudly inaugurated the "Mosaico. Italian Code of a Timeless Art" exhibition at The Leonardo Museum of Salt Lake City.
This impressive showcase, hosted in such a wonderful space, celebrates the creativity, craftsmanship, technology, innovation and rich cultural heritage of Italy through an immersive experience on the art of mosaics.
The occasion was marked by the graceful presence of special guests, such as Nobel Laureate Mario Capecchi, the Utah State Director for International Trade and Diplomacy Franz Kolb (Utah Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity), the Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall, City Council members, comic book artist Salvatore "Sal" Velluto (Sal Velluto Illustration, Inc.) and other prominent members of the SLC Italian and Italian-American community.
Thank you to both our outgoing and incoming Honorary Consuls in Salt Lake City, Michael Homer and Nicholas Fuoco, the creators of the exhibition Magister Art, The Leonardo Museum, the Italian American Civic League of Utah, the Festa Italiana SLC, our partners, and everyone who joined us to celebrate this vibrant exchange of Italian artistry and innovation.
If you’re in Salt Lake City, don’t miss this beautiful journey into Italian culture and innovation!
