The National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) is excited to announce the upcoming NIAF Arizona Regional Gala is set to take place on January 27, 2024, at the luxurious Waldorf Astoria Arizona Biltmore Hotel. This prestigious event will recognize outstanding individuals for their contributions to the community while raising funds for two deserving non-profit organizations.
The 2024 NIAF Honorees include Sheriff Paul Penzone, Maricopa County and Carla A. Consoli, Esq., Shareholder, May Potenza Baran & Gillespie. Both individuals have demonstrated exceptional dedication to their fields, embodying the spirit of Italian American excellence.
The gala will also present the 2024 Tomaso Maggiore Culinary Excellence Award to acclaimed Chef Gio Osso, Owner of Virtu Scottsdale and the 2024 Al Carfora Italian Heritage Award will be bestowed upon Phoenix City Councilman, Sal DiCiccio.
The evening's proceeds will be dedicated to supporting Boys Hope Girls Hope of Arizona, the First Place Phoenix Transition Academy and the NIAF Scholarship Program. Boys Hope Girls Hope is a non-profit organization dedicated to nurturing and guiding motivated young people in need, helping them become well-educated, career-ready individuals. The First Place Transition Academy, a non-profit clinically operated by SARRC, offers a structured two-year program supporting independent living for adults with autism through its Learn4Independence® curriculum and ABA treatment.
The reception on the Spire Lawn will commence at 6:00 p.m. with music by DJ Paul Amendola followed by the gala dinner hosted by the charismatic Dame Clarissa Burt, with live entertainment provided by the renowned Gooch Big Band. The event will also feature a live auction, adding an exciting element to the evening.
Chef Joey Maggiore of the Maggiore Group and a 2023 NIAF Honoree, will oversee the culinary design of the evening, curating an authentic three-course menu and desserts for attendees to savor.
