Two local organizations that celebrate Italian heritage in Kern County — the Italian Heritage Dante Association and the Italian Heritage Foundation — were instrumental in moving a new building to the Kern County Museum in 2023.
That building, now known as the Italian Heritage Farmhouse, was placed on its new foundation at the museum Thursday. And if everything goes as planned, it will soon help tell the story of Italian immigrants, their descendants in Kern County and the contributions they made in agriculture and other endeavors in the southern San Joaquin Valley.
