Coming but not going: The Salvatore Ferragamo store, which opened with great fanfare at 233 Geary St. in September 2000 (nearly the entire Italian clan flew in, Union Square was tented, Tony Bennett sang a benefit concert), is moving to 236 Post St. and will open officially on Jan. 8.
To mark its corporate citizenship, it is sponsoring the Mid-Winter Gala at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco this spring and releasing two limited-edition handbags, a Hayers mini Sofia for $2,650 and a Hayers Lucite clutch (pictured) for $1,890. Customers must preorder; a portion of sales will go to the museums.
