Anderson home to Italian plastics company

With the shell of the new Sirmax building rising as the backdrop, city, state and company officials celebrated construction of the new manufacturing facility. Sirmax is investing $25 million and will employ 50 people with an average salary starting this year. It is the first North American manufacturing plant for the Italian based company, which also has operations in Brazil.

During the ceremony Wednesday on the former Guide property at 25th Street and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Massimo Pavin, CEO of Sirmax, said he forgot the Indiana tie given to him by Gov. Mike Pence when the announcement was made in Detroit that the company was locating in Anderson. Pence ended his remarks by removing his "Indiana" tie and presenting it to Pavin.
