The Consulate of Italy in Detroit and the University of Detroit Mercy (UDM) School of Architecture and Community Development (SACD) are happy to cohost the multinational exhibition and panel discussion as part of the 2024 Detroit Month of Design.
The exhibition and its panel discussion will highlight the Dedalo Minosse International Prize for Commissioning a Building, which is a competition presented by ALA Assoarchitetti and Regione Veneto, Italy. The Prize has had a long connection with Detroit, as SACD’s Detroit Collaborative Design Center won the Prize in 2001 and 2011, and SACD’s Dean Dan Pitera, FAIA has served on the project selection team since 2014.
This biannual event has the mission to uplift the “Client” as a potential protagonist in the architectural design and construction process. The competition founders believe that special attention should be given to the dynamic collaborative work required the architect and the client, supported by the constructors and governmental agencies.
