A fashion event to remember. Social Club and Non Profit Organization, Italian American Women of Iowa will be showcasing their first Italian American Fashion Show, ‘Moda Italiana Fashion Show’, on Saturday September 30, 2023 at Allora in the Krause Gateway Center 1459 Grand Ave, Des Moines.
Apparel for the show includes vintage dresses and scarves that have been shipped from Italy for the show and also provided by designer Rosella Rago, an award-winning Italian-American cookbook author and host of online cooking show, Cooking with Nonna. Each piece of fashion on the runway will be available for purchase to the ticket holders of the event.
A code can be scanned by ticket holders to review and purchase. In addition, this event will be one of a kind for Des Moines Iowa giving guests a look as to why fashion is so important to the culture and history of Italy and Italian Americans.
The event will have 3 levels of tickets: Members of IAWI, General Admission and VIP. VIP will have a complimentary cocktail, swag bag and pre party viewing. Tickets are available here.
In addition, attendees are encouraged to bring lightly worn business wear to donate towards the charity, Dress for Success. A donation area will be set up for those to drop their donations when entering. Sponsorship for the show is Mini of Des Moines.
Allora is an Italian inspired dining cafe that is located on the first floor of the Krause Gateway Center. Italian fare will be served during the show to celebrate Italian American culture with a cash bar of vino and fashionable Italian cocktails. The Krause Gateway Center was designed by Pritzker Prize winning Italian architect Renzo Piano and previously owned by the Krause Group known for their deep ties with Italy.
