Leaders in Perry hope a new Italian manufacturing company will boost their economy by $14 million. Perry is trying to replace the 1,200 jobs lost last year when Tyson Foods closed. "It's nice to have something to celebrate," said Sven Peterson, Perry city administrator.
The city of Perry is celebrating a unanimous city council vote Monday night and the future. It's the first step to invite an Italian manufacturer to open its new U.S. headquarters in Perry. ADR Axle is based in Milan and makes agricultural parts like axles, braking systems, and suspensions. It will build a new 54,000-square-foot building in Perry's industrial park south of town. That means 35 jobs with more to come.
