An Italian company specializing in automation of food and beverage warehouses is planning a $3 million expansion of its Buncombe County regional headquarters.

System Logistics Corporation will hire an additional 47 people to work at the enlarged facility with pay averaging $32.17 an hour, or $66,900 annually, SLC and economic development officials told the Buncombe Board of Commissioners April 6. Commissioners voted unanimously to give $100,000 in economic incentives paid out over five years if the company follows through on the jobs and building expansion.
