An Italian manufacturer's plans to begin operations in Anderson by the end of the year have cleared a hurdle. Our partners at The Herald Bulletin report The Anderson Redevelopment Commission has approved incentives for Sirmax North America's project, which includes a $26 million investment and 50 new jobs.
The commission approved a resolution to include the project in Anderson's redevelopment plan. It also allocates $3 million to develop the site. Sirmax makes plastic compounds and resins for the appliance and automotive industries. The Herald Bulletin reports the new jobs would have an average salary of $40,000. The company hopes to begin operations in Anderson in October.
