Sheppard Air Force Base enjoyed a visit this week from Italian Defense representatives. H.E. Armando Varricchio, ambassador to Italy, traveled to the U.S. with Italian Consul General Elena Sgarbi and Italian Defense Attaché Lieutenant General Luca Goretti.

Varricchio has served as the ambassador of Italy to Washington since 2016. Prior to this position, he served as head of the Economic, Trade and Scientific Affairs section. He also held many high-ranking positions within the Italian government and abroad. During their visit, the group met with instructors and student pilots in the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training program (ENJJPT).
