Italian native Daniel Monti attended an IABF sponsored college showcase in the spring and landed a baseball scholarship to Sonoma State University in California. Monti played previously at Odessa College in Texas. Last season he hit .352 in 39 games with 4 home runs, 35 RBI, 37 runs scored and 11 stolen bases. 

One of IABF’s key missions is to provide opportunities to Italian baseball players and help grow the game in Italy. Monti, who plays for the Italian National Team, will play for Sonoma assistant coach Tony Ragusa, a proud Italian American, who played professionally in Italy.
