2021 Italian American Medical Awards to honor Dr. Anthony Fauci & thirteen other Italian American medical professionals

The Italian American Medical Awards (IAMA) will host the 2021 awards event at the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum on Thursday, October 14th, 2021, beginning at 5:00pm. The ceremony will award fourteen total recipients (see the list below) across four awards, including Dr. Anthony Fauci, who will receive IAMA’s highest honor this year: The Italian American Medical Award for Lifetime Achievement.

The award recognizes outstanding individuals of Italian-American origin who, thanks to their pioneering spirit and lifetime commitment, have honored their country of origin and give a significant contribution to research,
leadership, and mentorship within the medical community. IAMA continues to promote and inspire a positive image and legacy of Italian Americans, pushing to strengthen and empower ties between the United States and Italy. Numerous business, academia, and political leaders from across the country will be in attendance.

IAMA is chaired by the Hon. Amato Berardi and Mr. A.J. Mattia. The IAMA will recognize Italian American medical professionals from around the world across four additional awards: The Italian American Medical Award for Lifetime Achievement, The Italian American Medical Innovator of the Year, The Italian American Medical Award in Medical Excellence & The Italian American Spirit of Medicine Award. The celebration will take place at the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum, a one-of-a-kind automotive museum located in Philadelphia, PA. The museum was assembled by IAMA member, Frederick A. Simeone, M.D., a retired worldrenowned neurosurgeon and native to Philadelphia. He has built his distinguished collection of approximately 75 racing cars for over 50 years; becoming the #1 car collector in the world.

Proceeds from this year’s event will go to the National Kidney Foundation, which consistently acts as a lifeline for all people affected by kidney disease. As pioneers of scientific research and innovation, NKF focuses on the whole patient through the lens of kidney health. Fueled by passion and urgency, they continue to enhance the lives through actions, education and accelerating change.
