PROMOTING ITALIAN LANGUAGE AND CULTURE IN THE UNITED STATES BY STREAMLINING ADMISSION PROCEDURES TO ITALIAN UNIVERSITIES

Beginning with academic year 2013 – 2014 and, contrary to earlier requirements, students with an American High School Diploma who have taken a minimum of one AP Italian exam and two additional AP exams in subjects pertaining to their field of study, will be allowed to enroll in an Italian University. Hence, it will no longer be necessary to have attended two years of College, or one year of College and passed 4 AP exams.
The promotion of Italian language and culture in the United States is the main goal of these new guidelines adopted by the Ministry of Education, Universities and Research within the framework of the internationalization of the Italian Universities. This determination will add visibility and presence abroad to Italy's enormous cultural patrimony. These streamlined procedures are of particular interest to those students who have an American High School Diploma and wish to continue their studies in Italy, in the Universities and Institutions of Higher Artistic and Musical Formation.
