The Sons of Italy Purple Aster Chapter of Absecon and Galloway Township recently awarded scholarships of $1,500 each to three students who will attend college in the fall. The recipients are Andrew Hart of Absegami High School and Giulietta Messina and Anthony Coleman, both of Holy Spirit High School.
The students were selected by a committee based on their applications which focused on academics, activities, community service along with an essay about their Italian heritage. The winners received their scholarships during a dinner held at the Mays Landing Country Club in Mays Landing.
