Chicago Spotlights Italian Language for Kids

Insieme a Chicago invites parents and kids to enjoy book readings during "StoryTime" on August 29th, 2015. The meeting will feature three reading events designated for kids and families who are familiar with the Italian language and would like to participate to a unique reading adventure. 


The first session "Story Time & Sing Along," will take place from 9.30 a.m. to 10 a.m. and it is designated for kids ages 1-3 years old. Toddlers and parents will be engaged in age appropriate story telling and fun activities involving some of the most popular Italian children Songs. 


The second session "Story Time & Play Together" for kids 4 to 6 years old, will be from 10.15 a.m. to 10.45 a.m. After the Story Time, kids will be engaged in age appropriate activities aimed to act out the story from the book. A poem and/or a song will also be introduced. 


The third session "Fun Facts about Italy" for kids 7 and up years old will take place from 11 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. Fun facts about Italy will be introduced through books, poems, rhymes, games and other fun and age-appropriated activities. 


After the Story Time, children and parents will be welcome to stay in the dedicated space and spend time together with toys, books and a light refreshment. 


"Insieme a Chicago" is an Italian cultural program for children. "Insieme" is Italian for "together" and as the name implies "Insieme a Chicago" gathers Italians, Italian speakers and Italianophiles "together", in a space specifically designed for their little ones. The program focus is to immerse children in an Italian school setting, so to expose them to both the Language and the Culture.
