The Illinois Order Sons of Italy Foundation is accepting applications for $1,000 college scholarships. Graduating high school seniors who are fully or partially of Italian ancestry can apply. Applicants will be selected based on financial need, scholastic achievements, high school activities showing character and leadership, a personal essay and faculty recommendations.

Applications can be obtained by writing the Illinois Sons of Italy Foundation, 9447 W. 144th Place, Orland Park, IL 60462. Applicants should include a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Applications also can be obtained by emailing [email protected]. Applications must be returned to the foundation by July 1. Winners will be notified on or before Aug. 31.
